Consultant spotlight

Emily Davila is Mission Talent Recruitments Senior Talent Consultant.

She is passionate about connecting nonprofits with skilled professionals that have the energy and innovative approaches necessary to change the world.

Emily holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a B.A. in International Development from the University of Redlands.

She has worked for many international organizations, leading advocacy efforts related to gender, youth participation, HIV and AIDS and the Millennium Development Goals.  She honed her skills in advocacy and capacity building while working for the UN office of the Lutheran World Federation, where she organized youth conferences focusing on peace and entrepreneurship in Rwanda, Kenya and the Gambia.  In this role she also served as chair of Ecumenical Women, a coalition of 16 international Christian organizations. Under her leadership, the coalition launched a blog and trained more than 500 people in human rights advocacy.  She also evaluated partner projects in Papua New Guinea.

Emily is committed to helping non profits communicate effectively.  She put her strategic communications training into practice when designing a media strategy for Sustainable Health Enterprises (SHE) which resulted in media coverage in the New York Times and an increase in fund raising.

She is also a blogger and freelance writer, covering topics like gender, social entrepreneurship and communication for development.  
Emily is fluent in English, speaks intermediate Spanish and is learning German.  She has recently moved to Bonn.
